Swimming iPhones and Galaxies… (updated)

I went away this weekend with my cousins and aunt and uncle to Scarborough. I took lots of fun photos and wanted to tell you all about the amazing weekend, but my phone went for a late afternoon swim with me yesterday, just after my cousin’s iPhone decided to go play in the waves a bit. We’ve lost all our photos!

I’m heading through to Samsung Smart Care Centre this morning to make use of the SAMSUNG ADH offering – they cover screen and water damage on their devices!

Hopefully I can get my phone sorted out, and get the pictures off! I’m not too concerned about anything else really. Just the pics from the weekend.

UPDATE:  I got the photos off the phone!!! YIPPEEEEEE!!!!!  Will post about the weekend away later this evening. 🙂

My World On My Phone

I’m a busy mom. I work a full day and have a daughter most evenings (she does spend a lot of time with her dad). I feel like I’m always busy and it’s kinda hard to keep track of everything all the time.

I’m also a bit of a techno geek, which is why I love my Samsung Galaxy SIII so much. I love the Play Store – I love the awesome free apps I have found that make managing my day to day tasks and activities so easy!

I have a calendar app, to keep track of all the birthday parties and business meetings and networking dinners! I have a calorie tracker – to keep track of all the birthday cake (and wine and good food), and an exercise tracker to see how far I’ve run/swum/cycled and calories burned.

I have apps for banking, shopping lists, blogging, pinning, tweeting and facebooking. Apps to edit photos and share them on any social media I want. Emailing, instant messaging, note taking, music-sharing, navigation-so-you-don’t-get-lost apps. Apps for checking the weather where I am, and where I’m going. eReader apps because it’s easier to fit in my handbag instead of  that big novel, or have a dozen recipe books in the kitchen! I can throw birds at pigs and learn how to play the piano and squash big fat ants, colour in Disney princesses and scan business cards!! Subscribe to international newspapers and keep up to date with what is going on in the world without leaving my desk – or bed! Buy electricity and airtime and data and download music and rent movies to watch online!!!

I even found Platter’s South Africa Wine app – with over 3000 wines, maps, and ratings!  *sigh…. too much happy*

It’s crazy! And this is probably only the tip of the iceberg of what these phones (and other smartphones) can do.

A few years ago I would never have thought my whole life would be in one little device – now I think I’d be lost without it.
